Pre/Post Treatment Instructions
HydraFacial treatments are designed to deeply cleanse, nourish, and rejuvenate the skin—but to get the best results and avoid any unwanted reactions, proper pre- and post-care is key. These steps help prepare your skin, support its recovery, and ensure you get the most out of your treatment.
Before Your Treatment
-
- Discontinue the use of any Retinoid, Hydroquinone, Benzoyl Peroxide or topical acne-medications 1 week prior to Hydrafacial.
- Waxing and/or use of chemical depilatories must be avoided for 1 week prior and 2 weeks after the treatment.
- Your skin may experience temporary irritation, tightness, or redness. These are all normal reactions that typically resolve within 72 hours depending on skin sensitivity.
After Your Treatment
-
- You may experience tingling and stinging during the treatment area. These sensations generally subside within 3 hours of treatment.
- Patient experiences may vary. Some people may experience a delayed onset of the previously mentioned symptoms. Contact us immediately if any unusual side effects occur or if symptoms worsen over time.
- You will likely see results immediately after treatment and your skin will feel smooth and hydrated for one to four weeks. For improved, longer lasting results, consider take-home products and monthly HydraFacial treatments.
- The treatment area is more susceptible to sunburn, sun damage and hyperpigmentation. Avoid direct sun exposure and use Elta MD sunscreen for a minimum of 3-4 weeks after Hydrafacial.
- Aggressive exfoliation, waxing and products containing acids should be avoided in the treatment area for a minimum of 2 weeks post-treatment.
- Avoid the use of Retin-A type products for 2 weeks post-treatment.
