Lumenis® M22™ ResurFX™ Laser Treatment

The Lumenis® M22™ ResurFX™ nonablative laser treats skin damage and tightens skin. Unlike ablative lasers, which remove the top layer of skin and part of the sublayer, nonablative lasers keep the outer layer of skin intact, which promotes faster healing. ResurFX laser treatment uses CoolScan™ technology, which ensures that laser-energy delivery is precise and consistent. The ResurFX laser is a good option for patients who prefer a noninvasive treatment that has little downtime and creates minimal discomfort.

After ResurFX laser treatment, the body’s natural healing process replaces damaged tissue with new, healthy tissue, resulting in smoother and healthier-looking skin. The ResurFX laser is used for discolored and sun-damaged skin, as well as the following:

    • Uneven skin tone
    • Age spots
    • Acne scars
    • Surgical scars/scars caused by injury
    • Wrinkles
    • Loose skin
    • Stretch marks

Benefits Of ResurFX Laser Treatment

ResurFX laser treatment is appropriate for most skin types, and is extremely customizable. The laser beam’s shape, size, density and strength can be adjusted to fit each patient’s needs. Additional benefits include the following:

Noninvasive
Minimal treatment time
Fast recovery
Minimal discomfort during the procedure
Causes less redness/swelling than more invasive treatments

In addition to keeping skin intact, the ResurFX laser stimulates collagen growth, tightening underlying skin.

The ResurFX Laser Procedure

Prior to treatment, a topical anesthetic is applied to the skin. Due to the non-ablative nature of the laser, however, most patients experience minimal discomfort. The ResurFX laser handpiece is run over the treatment area, while the temperature-monitoring CoolScan system protects the skin. Treatments take, on average, 30 minutes. Several treatments, spaced several weeks apart, usually produce the best results.

Patients can return to their normal activities immediately after ResurFX treatments; mild redness, tingling or swelling are usually the only side effects, and they subside within a few days.
